Happily Ever After

Once upon a time a girl and a boy went to a Ratt concert at Reunion Arena in downtown Dallas, Texas. This boy from Alaska had no idea that this girl made note of him. "This is one cute long-haired boy", the girl thought (or something along those lines).

The girl and the boy knew some of the same people and frequented the same establishments (read: seedy rock and roll bars). One night, the girl and her friend ended up outside one of these establishments at the same time as the boy and his friend. The four ended up hanging out until the wee hours of the morning. They ended up throwing parachute men off the parking garage of the Galleria mall to watch them sail to the ground. They laughed and had a great time.

The girl knew. She knew it right then.

It wasn't easy though. The boy moved back to Alaska. Then he moved to California. The girl had never been to any state that didn't border Texas.

But guess what. The girl still knew it. And as they say, it was meant to be.

20+ years after that Ratt concert, the girl and the boy are celebrating their 15 year wedding anniversary. It was indeed meant to be, and the girl still gets excited to see the boy after a long day at work. She cherishes the moments late at night when they finally have time to talk. She longs for more date nights, just the two of them. But more than that, her heart melts to the core when she sees this long-haired boy with the children that were created out of their love.

Thank you, August, for my happily ever after. Happy number 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
