Halloween...and Disney Halloween Part III!

Good golly, it seems as if we are closer to Christmas than Halloween now! Yet, I still have lots to share.

And I miss October.

It was so fleeting, and it is my favorite.

We went to Disneyland TWICE...the second time, we park hopped from Disneyland...


...over to California Adventure, which was decorated with candy corns. Their decorations were beyond cute, I can barely stand it.

And then it came.

Halloween was here, and it was on a Saturday!

After our school's carnival, I brought home the fabric we use to decorate the pop-up tents so that I could wash it for next year.

Kennedy had the wise idea to use it to spruce up the house.

It was cool.

This is our newest dude. We usually like to add one thing per year!

Shai came over from across the street and helped us carve pumpkins in the yard.

They turned out cool!!

Brooke was a dead ballerina. Very scary indeed!

Kennedy was a fairy princess. Very beautiful indeed!

After going through our neighborhood, we headed over to our friend's. Josh was super scary. Brooke doesn't appear to be scared, actually.

Then we trick or treated Sydney's house at around 10 p.m.

And that, my friends, was that. Halloween 2009...out!

...and so it begins

I know I told you in the previous post that Brooke went to a pumpkin patch birthday party this weekend.

We love, love, love Halloween in our house, and she picked the perfect pumpkin and asked if she could carve it right away.

Plus, she and Kennedy both wanted to start decorating, but I said we needed to wait for the next weekend.

And no carving pumpkins yet, or they will be moldy well before Halloween.

So, in the meantime, we have one new addition to our decor from Target, plus a styrofoam skull I found in the costume bin...




...and instead of carving, she painted! She painted her pumpkin to be a dog. I couldn't love it more!!!

Oh yeah, it's FALL

The air is cool. The month is October. Let the games begin.

Trick or Treat!

I believe I have mentioned that we really get into Halloween. Really. Get. Into. It. We decorate thoroughly, both inside and out. For more pictures, check out our Halloween page on the Shutterfly picture site...click here.

We had a little party - two 11 year-old matching candy corn witches (Madeline & Kennedy)...

Two little ones in first grade - Little Orphan Annie (Giordana) and Pink Punk Pirate (Brookie)...

Three medium-sized 3rd graders - Marie Antoinette (Olivia, Madeline's sister), Pippi Longstocking (Milan Adaea, Giordana's sister), and their friend, Alex...

Our neighbor, Shai...he's two and he's cute and they live across from us. The girls adore him. He has a baby sister cooking in his mommy's tummy. We are very excited about that, to be sure.

Halloween Rocks

As you will see, Halloween at our school ROCKS.

The school had a fundraiser party on the 24th to kick things off.

On Halloween, the elementary school children had a parade. It was very cute.


The middle schoolers did not get to go to the parade, because it is just mostly work, work, work for them. However, Halloween fell on the last Friday of the month which means "Free"ky Friday lunch...free pizza for all!! This definitely classifies as "rocking", wouldn't you say?

Kennedy was mildly embarrassed when I showed up and snapped some pictures.

However, her friends will appreciate me when they show up in the yearbook time and time again. They will think that I rock for sure!

This is my friend, Shan, handing out pizza to the kids. She's British and funny and has a huge heart. This school rocks because if we hadn't transferred here, I would have not had the joy of knowing her! Her daughter, India, rocks too.

She doesn't normally have green hair and black lips...

Halloween fervor

This is Halloween...this is Halloween...

I love the pumpkins that Kennedy created this year. Just thought I'd share them again in case this picture didn't jump out at you from the Shutterfly website. How clever these are! She is giving the spider to her math/science teacher, Mr. Marcus, and the witch to her homeroom/ English/ history teacher, Ms. Eaton {and the witch is NOT a symbol to represent her feelings for her teacher...she likes her teacher very much!}

We had a busy Halloween weekend. We started with a party at the school on Friday night - the Monster Mash. It was quite a success, and many parents worked very hard to make it a night to remember. Some of us were there until almost 11 p.m. cleaning up! Saturday, Brooke had a girl scout event all morning (learning to tie knots, cook on a fire, etc - all the handy things a little girl should know).

Saturday night was another Halloween party for Kennedy at her friend's house! Tina was very brave hosting a house full of 6th graders! Fun was had by all.

Sunday...we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch, this time with the Zavolta family. Somehow I managed to lose half my pictures from this day.

Shoot.

That evening, we went to a neighborhood party for ANOTHER Halloween event!

Check out my friend, Suzanne's, cinnamon roll Princess Lea buns on the side of her head. Cracked. Me. Up.

Also, and this is big news, August and I went on a date on Saturday night! As in just the two of us for almost four hours! We even ventured "over the hill" to Hollywood. We felt very cutting edge (I mean, old).

What a wonderful weekend...
