Smooshies - get yours SOON!

My company has a cool new product.

It's like the stuffed animal version of a Mr. Potato Head.

It's called a Smooshie.

It has different parts that you can mix and match.

To make funny little monsters.

Paige spent the night one night and she and Brooke tried them out. Look for these faces soon on my company's website!!! www.mysmooshies.com

Back in time..

For the past few weeks, I've been a mite distracted. First there came Facebook. The greatest time-stealer I ever came across. Not that I post on my "wall" all that frequently, but I do like to see what others are up to and I do like to share my own pictures from time to time. (and then there's that stupid Farmtown...)
...
Then my dad suffered a stroke, and is recovering ever so slowly so we remain constantly worried, concerned, always thinking, always remembering, always wishing, always hoping for just a little more time.
...
But, life continues its whirlwind and Kennedy & Brooke are having busy summers and occasionally August and I have a little fun ourselves...which leads me to:
...
My friend, Stacy, turned 40 a few weeks ago. 'Bout time, I say! Stacy is one of my favorite friends...she's a tiny gal with a big heart.

Her party was held at a club where a certain band was playing with everyone's favorite guitarist.
...
The band is LIGHTS.

...and the guitarist, August. (Of course! Who did you think it was, silly?)

Now, this party was held in a club. A bar. The music was loud and it was CROWDED!

Yet...children were allowed in. Go figure. So a few key children were allowed to come to the club to Stacy's party.

(Max, Kennedy, Emilee and Sabrina)

The i-Phone never ceases to amaze. During a power ballad, Rob could still hold up a lighter in a non-smoking facility. This, my friends, is why California rocks. You cannot smoke anywhere in this state. Not even in a rock and roll bar.

It was a good night, a fun night, a LATE night. Rock on my friends!

Twilight (and not the vampire kind) Camp

A few weeks ago, Brookie went to Twilight camp. This is a camp for Girl Scouts that lasts only one week and goes from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m.

She was there with several girls from her troop, and she had a lot of fun.

Friday night, the last night of camp, they had a show.

They sang.

They danced.

They shimmied and they shook.

And at the end, they did a great big ginormous friendship squeeze.

A few girls from Kennedy's troop were counselors. Kennedy went camping with India this week, so she did not get to be a counselor, but next year for sure! Molly had a great time!

Girls Scouts is a fantastic organization...we are so lucky to have such great troops for our girls! Here is Brooke with Nicole. She went to preschool with Nicole, but now they go to different schools. However, they still remain friends because they are in the same troop.

Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other's gold!

Patience and Prayers are needed...

My dad suffered a stroke last Saturday. It has been a rough few days.
...
For stroke victims, the first week or so is a waiting game. It could get worse before it gets better. This is to be expected. These are all the things we heard over the weekend. Things we keep repeating to ourselves.
...
My brother, his beautiful wife and I flew to Albuquerque this past weekend to be with my stepmother, Alice. Alice has the hardest job of all. She rarely leaves his bedside, she sleeps in his room at night.
...
Stephanie (my beautiful sister-in-law) and I are setting up a separate blog to give updates on his condition to help alleviate the number of times Alice has to recite the information about his current condition. It is a work in process, but you can find this blog by clicking here.
...
I wish for him to recover with all my heart...

Haircuts and Pieholes

These two smiley girls are having a lovely summer. And they were both in need of a haircut.

So off we went, and the hairs got cut! Yes, Kennedy got bangs again! It's the new style with the girls these days. How adorable are these two? Pretty dang adorable, if you ask me. Which you didn't, I guess I asked me and I have the biased right to say....WHAT CUTE KIDS!

Seriously, people pay big money for hair like this...

Brooke was playing quietly in her room right before bedtime Saturday night.

And I made her pose for a few more cute-haircut pictures.

And then her sister came in and got the weird idea that she wanted to try and fit Brooke's fist...

inside her great big pie hole.

....which Brooke protested, so Kennedy tried to put Brooke's fist inside Samoa's great big pie hole. Which Brooke did not really mind for some reason. (You might want to make sure she washes her hands before she serves you anything, FYI)

So then Kennedy decided to lay down on top of her and squish her.

And speaking of pie holes, this dude was gone ALL WEEKEND to Minnesota...playing guitar and fishing with bandmates.

Pie holes are genetic, by the way.

Hope everyone else's weekend was spectacular!

Happy Fifth of July!

Last Saturday I said the words I haven't said since I lived in Texas... "We are spending the day at the lake tomorrow."

Four families: four dads, four moms, eight kids. 2 jet skis. Lots of food. Good times!

Here, Darby and Ryder wave goodbye to Stacy, Kennedy & India...

Relaxing in the water.

Julia, India and Kennedy...great friends!

Chillaxin' in a boat with my girlfriends!

Brooke and Tim were on the hunt for rocks.

Brooke refused to go on the jet ski all day until almost the very end. She LOVED it!

Kennedy went out several times throughout the day!

And then when we got home, close to 8 p.m., they wanted to go swimming in the neighbor's pool (which we have been pool-sitting all week while they were out of town).

WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND!!!
